ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK
(PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT)
ACTIVITIES
Dynamo Fencing Club Inc (“DFC”) activities include all activities related to the sport of fencing including training and competition. Dynamo Fencing training may take place in all settings and includes the DFC premises, indoor or outdoor locations (i.e. schools, recreational centres, gyms, etc.) and includes activities including but not limited to stretching/warm up activities, fencing games, lessons, mental training, sparring, practise and competitive matches.
As a combat sport I acknowledge that engaging in activities at DFC require a degree of skill and knowledge different than regular sports and activities and therefore participants have additional responsibilities to act prudently and carefully. Certain hazards and risks are inherent to the Activities at DFC and eliminating the hazards and risks would compromise the unique character of the fencing experience. These inherent hazards and risks can result in loss, or damage to equipment, personal property, or injury, illness or death.
In addition to the hazards and risks described above, the hazards and risks of the Activities may also include, but are not limited to, the following: acts of you or other participants (including from the failure of other participants to follow instructions or obey safety regulations), manufacturers defects or malfunctions in equipment, consumption of food and drink, fire, first aid, emergency treatment, or other services provided. All participants must obey all DFC rules, DFC code of conduct, and staff instruction, stay in designated areas at all times and not venture into the field of play without permission and without wearing fully protective fencing equipment including clothing and mask.
